Local Barbershop Chorus Seeks Pro-Bono Agency/Practitioner

gamble-airesThe Las Vegas Gamble-Aires Barbershop Chorus — an IRS-exempt 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit — is seeking a qualified PR agency/sole practitioner to provide creative general communication and hands-on support to the Chorus as a pro-bono client during our 50th Anniversary celebration in 2010…and possibly beyond. 

The individual or agency will report to the G-A Board of Directors, through the VP of Public Relations/Marketing (a retired journalist/PR pro/ex-PRSA member).  Support would include professional back-up to VP-PR/Marketing in contacting media with Jubilee Year story ideas/special events; writing/planting feature articles/news releases; suggesting collaterals and otherwise offering creative ideas for making this historic observance a local benchmark barbershop musical event to be remembered.  They’re hoping to pull out all stops and go the whole nine yards!

Pro-bono enticements could include, but not be limited to, joint website links, complimentary tickets to the gala 50th Show on May 22 and other chorus performances, and comp ads in show programs/the chorus newsletter.

The person will also be encouraged to offer up creative ideas/hands-on skills in helping the Chapter fulfill its current objectives in support of its primary mission as an educationally-oriented nonprofit.  These objectives for 2010 and beyond include:

  1. Raising $10,000 from 2010 show program ads and community fundraising efforts; the latter using a new Chapter-developed, formal prospectus aimed at local small businesses, corporations and grant-giving organizations.
  2. Doubling the chorus’ active roster of singers.
  3. Tripling to nine the number of annual revenue-generating chorus singing performances throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
  4. Helping produce an interesting online/emailed Chapter newsletter.
  5. Helping build a vibrant and exciting new website.
  6. Helping establish an ongoing, effective revenue-producing, community-benefitting annual Valentine’s Day sing-out program.
