September is PRSA's ethics month and the Las Vegas Valley Chapter is hosting a breakfast with three panelists to discuss ethical issues in the media and public relations industries.
From the Wal Mart scandal (where a young PR professional working for an agency under contract to Wal Mart posed as journalist to gain entry into a union organizing meeting) to the Wall Street Journal's firing of an intern (who made up people and quotes in a story that went to press), there's plenty to talk about.
Panelists:
- Former NPR Ombudsman Alicia Shepard, guest professor this fall at UNLV’s Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies
- Charles Zobell, managing editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and a leader of the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists
- Emmanuel Tchividjian, ethics officer of Ruder Finn (National PRSA approved speaker)
