President's Report

As communicators, we’re often trained to look outward toward media, stakeholders and the communities we serve. But one of the most important reminders I’ve seen recently is this: our most critical audience may be inside our own organizations.

This month’s PRSA Strategies & Tactics issue on “Internal Comms Rewired” reinforces what many of us are experiencing. Internal communication can’t rely on “getting the message out.” Today’s workforce is asking deeper questions: Why does this matter? What does it mean for me? How should I show up?

We already have the skills. The opportunity is to apply them internally with the same rigor we bring to external campaigns:

  • Leading with purpose-driven narratives, not just directives
  • Using a mix of channels, from ambassadors to town halls, to create real dialogue
  • Grounding it all in research to uncover what our audiences truly need and expect
  • Connecting data to outcomes (not just outputs!) to show the impact of our work

When we connect the dots between our communications efforts and engagement, retention and organizational outcomes, we demonstrate real business impact and strengthen our seat at the table.

This is an area we’ll continue to build on as a chapter, through future programming and shared resources. Until then, I encourage you to take a closer look at your internal audiences. Are you simply informing, or are you influencing behavior, engagement and results?

Cheers,
Courtney Fogle, APR

LVCVA Visitor Profile 2025

The 50th edition of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s 2025 Las Vegas Visitor Profile Study (VPS) was released this month. Based on more than 5,400 visitor interviews conducted throughout the year, the report provides valuable insights into who is visiting Las Vegas, why they’re coming, how they spend their time and money, and which experiences resonate most.

For PR teams, the VPS can be a powerful tool to sharpen audience targeting, shape story angles, and support pitches with credible data that resonate with the media. The findings can also help inform campaign messaging and align local brands with the evolving interests and expectations of today’s Las Vegas visitor.

We encourage teams to explore the report and consider how these insights can strengthen storytelling, inform outreach, and uncover new opportunities to highlight the Las Vegas experience. If you have any questions about the report or findings, please contact Molly Castano, [email protected].
